A River Flowing Upward
2023 — Art Gym, Denver, Colorado
A River Flowing Upward was Erin Dvorak Clark’s MFA thesis exhibition, presenting an extended photographic investigation of the South Platte River in Colorado. The work considers water as both a physical resource and a site of intimacy, spirituality, and connection to place. Combining large-format photographs with sculptural and material interventions, the exhibition questions the ways photography—and humans more broadly—attempt to observe, define, control, and possess the natural landscape.
Mirage
2025 — NOVA24 Photo | Film Festival, Detroit, Michigan
Mirage explored the expansive possibilities of experimental photography, bringing together artists from Detroit alongside national and international practitioners. The exhibition challenged conventional expectations of lens-based media, emphasizing photography as a medium capable of extending beyond the traditional photographic print and incorporating alternative materials, processes, and approaches.
